LekkerJob is built in South Africa by Jean Louw for South African trade businesses. The whole app is designed around the reality of running a plumbing, electrical, or building business from a bakkie and a phone.
Why LekkerJob exists
Most job-management software is built for markets that don't look like South Africa. They assume fast office Wi-Fi, a back-office admin, a USD price point, and tax rules that don't match SARS. Trade businesses here are different: the owner is usually also the technician, the invoice needs to be VAT-compliant and in ZAR, and the whole workflow happens on a phone — often on 4G in a suburb with load-shedding.
LekkerJob is a mobile-first job management app designed for that reality. It runs in any browser, installs to the phone home screen, and handles the full trade workflow — capture the job, take photos, get a signature, log time, invoice in ZAR — without ever needing a laptop.
Who's behind it
LekkerJob is built by Jean Louw, a South African engineer, with feedback from the trade professionals actually using it every day. Every feature exists because a real plumber, electrician, or builder asked for it.
Principles
- Mobile first, laptop never required.If you can't do it on a phone, it doesn't ship.
- ZAR and SARS first. No surprise dollar amounts, no half-implemented tax rules.
- Respect the client relationship. Signed sign-off and clear photo evidence mean fewer disputes and faster payment.
- Respect your data. POPIA-aware, data stored in a secure Postgres database, and client PII never leaks to third-party analytics.
